Crossmark Policy
DOI: https://doi.org/10.61468/jofdlcrossmark
Articles published in JOFDL are considered permanent records. Each published article receives a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring its perpetual availability on our journal website.
JOFDL is a proud member of Crossref, an organisation that provides the Crossmark service. Crossmark is a multi-publisher initiative that provides readers with easy access to the most current version of a research paper or article. By adopting this system, JOFDL commits to providing readers with the latest version of any published research paper and will apprise them of any updates or changes. Readers can ascertain the current status of an article and access additional information by simply clicking on the Crossmark logo. The Crossmark button will be prominently displayed on PDF versions of each article from July 2025.
Crossmark will be used to signal all major updates to published articles, including corrections and retractions.
For more information on Crossmark, please visit the Crossref website: https://www.crossref.org/services/crossmark/
Article Retraction Policy
An article may be retracted at the author's request or by the publisher if it contains significant issues or does not comply with journal policies. Reasons for retraction include, but are not limited to:
-
Plagiarized material
-
Duplicate or overlapping publication
-
Fraudulent use of data
-
Serious errors or flawed research foundations
In such circumstances, the data, article, or published research paper may be withdrawn, or a corrected version may be republished. An article cannot be retracted to publish it elsewhere.
Correction of Articles
Human error can occur at any stage of the publication process, from the author's research to peer review and final publication. Such mistakes can be corrected, and the article may be republished with the necessary changes. Authors may submit corrected versions, or editors may make changes if unavoidable errors are identified. Minor corrections (e.g., typos, formatting) typically do not trigger a Crossmark update. All amended articles and their previous versions are accessible through Crossmark, of which we are active members.
Article Removal
JOFDL maintains strict adherence to journal ethics and rules. In rare instances, a published article may be removed from our database or archive if it:
-
Infringes upon copyright or related intellectual property issues.
-
Contains content that incites hatred or discrimination against any group, community, religion, gender, or race.
-
Presents incomplete or inaccurate study findings that could pose a serious health risk.
JOFDL is deeply committed to maintaining the integrity and completeness of research for the entire academic community. The journal places great importance on the authority of published research work. The JOFDL Editor-in-Chief has the final authority in deciding which research work is published. This decision is guided by the policies of the JOFDL International Editorial Advisory Board and constrained by legal requirements regarding copyright violation and plagiarism.
Published articles should remain present, accurate, and unchanged as much as possible. However, unavoidable circumstances may arise where, after publication, research work requires retraction or even removal from the journal.
Specific Circumstances for Changes
Such actions, including Article Retraction, primarily apply to "Article in Press" versions, which represent early stages of articles. Suppose an "Article in Press" infringes professional ethical codes (e.g., multiple submissions, false authorship claims, plagiarism, fraudulent data use, or similar incidents). In that case, the article may be withdrawn at the Editor's discretion.
Article Replacement: The identification of false or inaccurate data that, if acted upon, could pose a serious health risk, as well as any fraud associated with science, will be treated with equal seriousness. JOFDL aims to maintain the integrity of the academic record and encourages academic integrity. We consider appointing a journal ethics panel to advise on specific cases and periodically review journal policies.
Ensuring the Integrity of the Academic Record: We ensure that published research work is firmly archived and have systems in place to give authors the opportunity to make original research articles freely available.
Allegation of Misconduct and Conflict of Interest Policy
If an allegation of misconduct or conflict of interest arises, regardless of its nature (personal, professional, economical, or non-economical) among authors, reviewers, editors, journals, and publishers:
-
Concerns or issues should be immediately brought to the notice of the publisher/editor in writing at jofdl-editor@flanz.org.nz.
-
The concern or issue will be taken seriously, and appropriate action will be taken in response to the complaint.
-
Our team of intellectuals will review the case and its details. An unbiased decision or action will be taken based on the final report.
-
Serious action, including the withdrawal or removal of the paper from publication (if already published), will be taken if warranted.
-
Unless there is an issue of plagiarism, misconduct, or conflict of interest, a published paper will not be removed.
If you have any complaints or wish to appeal to the journal, please send an appeal letter to jofdl-editor@flanz.org.nz, clearly explaining the basis for your appeal.
